The film is set in the early 60's and is about a boat driver who runs a parcel service between Kodungaloor and Kollam, through the back waters of Kerala. He has three concubines in three different islands enroute, and the story is about his relationship with them. Kamalini Mukerjee, Padmapriya and Srilankan actress Meenakumari play the three women in Kutty Sranku's life. The others in the cast are Sai Kumar, Siddique and Suresh Krishna. The film has a camerawoman in Anjali Shukla, a Pune film institute graduate, and a former assistant of the wizard cameraman Santosh Sivan. The film is produced by Reliance Entertainments.
